This tool requires you to know exactly what the RPM of the engine is at so you can calibrate it. You change how many times the wire is wrapped around the spark plug wire to get the exact reading. I purchased it to tell me what the RPM is so it's pretty much useless since I have no way of telling what my engine RPM is at any given point. I will be returning this item.
